My postcard works are produced from a formula of purchasing rolls of exposed 8mm film, presented for sale on eBay. The contents of the footage are briefly described on the seller’s page and these descriptions serve as prompts for my writing. Before the film arrives, I write a text titled The Structure of a Second, in which I imagine a second of the footage. This single second is broken down into 24 frames, referencing the characteristics of the medium of 8mm film.
